Admonition for Saboteurs and Terrorists
Shaykh Alee bin Abdur Rahman Al Hudhayfee [(Rabee'uth Thaanee 29, 1425 (June
18, 2004)]

All praise is due to Allaah, Lord of all the
worlds. Peace and blessings of Allaah be upon the Messenger, his household and
companions.
Fellow Muslims! Fear Allaah as He should be feared. That is the strongest
stronghold for the Muslim in this world and his provision for the Hereafter.
Dear Muslims! The greatest act of righteousness is the one that benefits its
doer and others like Islaamic monotheism, and the pillars of Islaam. And the
greatest sin is the one whose evil consequences are widespread, like polytheism
and killing a soul that Allaah has forbidden from being killed. Allaah says,
“And those who break the
Covenant of Allaah, after its ratification, and sever that which Allaah has
commanded to be joined (i.e. they sever the bond of kinship and are not good to
their relatives), and work mischief in the land, on them is the curse (i.e. they
will be far away from Allaah’s Mercy), and for them is the unhappy (evil) home
(i.e. Hell).”
(Ar-Ra‘d 13:25)
Dear brethren! This country, all praise be to Allaah, is a safe and peaceful
country with
its Islaam, its excellence values and its noble Sharee‘ah. But it is a source of
concern for the sincere lovers of Islaam and this country that a group of
misguided individuals who misunderstood the injunctions of the Qur’aan and the
Sunnah are revolting against the rulers, opposing the majority of the Muslims,
causing mischief in the land and killing their fellow Muslims and non-Muslims
who are living under the protection of Islaamic state. These misguided
individuals have also committed acts of sabotage and treachery, which indicate
that they are ungrateful to Allaah for the blessing of security under whose
shade the religion can be easily practiced. Allaah says,
“But when you are free from danger, perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-
Salât). Verily, As-Salât (the prayer) is enjoined on the believers at fixed
hours.”
(An-Nisaa 4:103)
In the hadeeth, Allaah’s Messenger said, “Whoever wakes up in the morning
securely comfortable, health in his body and having his daily bread; it is as if
the whole world is put in his possession.”
Dear brethren! Human welfare entirely depends on security. We thank Allaah that
the security of this country is firm-rooted. No evil plan of mischief-makers can
shake it because there are abundant elements of arresting and dousing its fire.
The rulers, the scholars and the citizens all stand united against every
erroneous ideology that threatens the religion, the security, the interests and
the stability of this country.
It is part of Allaah’s method that He has provided a way of dealing with big
crimes and their perpetrators. He ordained law of requital [qisaas] for a
murderer and cutting of a thief’s hand. He says for example,
“The recompense of those who wage war against Allaah
and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed
or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off from opposite sides, or be
exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment
is theirs in the Hereafter.”
(Al-Maaidah 5:33)
If the criminal escapes from the punishment of law, he can never escape from the
punishment of fate for his crime. Allaah’s Messenger said, “Allaah gives respite
to an oppressor until when He sizes him He will not let him escape.”
The crimes committed by these khawaarij are indeed great. Allaah says,
“And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his
recompense is Hell to abide therein; and the Wrath and the Curse of Allaah are
upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him.”
(An-Nisaa 4:93)
Allaah’s Messenger said, “The Muslim shall remain safe in matters of his
religion as long as he has not killed an inviolable soul.”
He also said, “Killing of a Muslim is more serious in the sight of Allaah than
annihilation of this world.”
He also said, “If all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth were to
collectively kill a Muslim, Allaah would cast all them to Hell.”
These misguided individuals also killed protected souls. And Allaah says,
“And kill not anyone whom Allaah has forbidden, except
for a just cause (according to Islaamic law).”
(Al-An‘aam 6:151)
Allaah’s Messenger said, ““Whoever kills a Muslim living under the protection of
the Muslim state shall never perceive the fragrance of Paradise.”
Another great crime committed by these unscrupulous individuals is abducting
non-Muslims who are under the protection of the Muslim state and killing them.
This is, doubtlessly a treacherous and disgraceful act whose punishment is very
severe. Allaah says,
“Certainly Allaah likes not the treacherous.”
(Al-Anfaal 8:58)
Allaah also says, “
“Be not a pleader for the treacherous.”
(An-Nisaa 4:105)
The Prophet said, “A flag with be hoisted for every betrayer on the Day of
Resurrection. And it will be said, ‘this is the treachery of so-and-so son of
so-and-so.”’ (Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim)
This is the punishment of disgrace in the presence of all creatures on the Day
of Judgment, but the punishment of Hell shall be more severe.
Dear brethren! If a non-Muslim is given a pledge of protection by any Muslim
even if it a woman, no one is permitted to kill him, seize his property, kidnap
him or harm him. Allaah’s Messenger said, “Muslims are equal in terms of blood.
The promise of protection given by the humblest among them must be respected by
all, and the one residing far away may give protection on their behalf. They are
like one hand against all those who are outside their community.” (Aboo Daawood)
How then will it be if the one who gives the pledge of protection is the leader
of the Muslims or one his agents? The khawaarij should understand these
injunctions. They should ask the scholars matters of their religion, which are
unclear to them. Let them fear Allaah regarding their religion, their own
selves, their society and the families. Let them ask themselves: are they
correct and the scholars wrong? Let them return to Allaah in repentance before
they die upon their state of renouncing Allaah, His Messenger and their fellow
Muslims.
Among the crimes committed by these individuals is self-destruction. And Allaah
has promised a punishment for those who kill themselves. He says,
“O you who believe! Eat not up your property among
yourselves unjustly except it be a trade amongst you, by mutual consent. And do
not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allaah is Most Merciful to
you. And whoever commits that through aggression and injustice, We shall cast
him into the Fire, and that is easy for Allaah.”
(An-Nisaa 4:29-30)
Aboo Hurayrah reported that Allaah’s Messenger said, “Whoever kills himself with
a steel [weapon] will have the weapon in his hand and will continue stabbing it
into his stomach in the Fire of Hell forever and ever. Whoever kills himself by
drinking poison will sip it in the Fire of Hell forever and ever. Whoever kills
himself by jumping from a mountain will keep throwing himself [off a mountain]
in the Fire of Hell forever and ever.”
O you who have revolted against the authority and oppose the majority of the
Muslims, listen to the saying of Allaah’s Messenger, “Certainly, Satan is to man
as a fox is to sheep. The fox seizes the isolated goat. Beware of dissention and
discord and be with the community of the Muslims.” (At-Tabaraanee)
I am therefore asking these khawaarij if they pray behind the Imaam of the two
sacred mosques when they come here. If they do, they are right. It is then
incumbent upon them to accept his saying supported with evidences on the
falsehood of their ideologies and sabotaging ways. But if they believe that the
Imaam of the two sacred mosques should not be followed in prayers, their error
is then vividly clear like a midday sun, for this belief of theirs implies that
the prayers of millions of Muslims who pray behind the Imaam of the sacred
mosques will be rejected and that it is only their own prayers that will be
accepted. And this is a manifest error. Allaah says,
“It is He Who has sent down to you (Muhammad (peace be
upon him)) the Book (this Qur'ân). In it are Verses that are entirely clear;
they are the foundations of the Book and others unspecific. As for those in
whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they follow that of it, which is
unspecific, seeking discord, seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And
no one knows its true interpretation except Allaah. But those firm in knowledge
say, ‘We believe in it all of it is from our Lord.’ And no one will be reminded
except those of understanding. (They say): "Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate
(from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly,
You are the Bestower.”
(Aal ‘Imraan 3:7-8)
Fellow Muslims! Know the truth you will know people of truth. Men are identified
by the truth and not the other way round.
Dear brethren! Your country is now infested with the crisis of the khawaarij
that threatens your religion, your society and your security. It threatens the
security men who spend sleepless nights in the service of the pilgrims and the
visitors and in the service of their nation and religion. This crisis also
threatens ordinary Muslims and non-Muslims who are under our protection. This
crisis serves none but enemies of Islaam and enemies of this country. We should
therefore join hands to nip this crisis in the bud. Allaah says,
“Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa (virtue,
righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression.
And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment.”
(Al-Maaidah 5:2)
Allaah also says,
“And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of
Allaah (i.e. this Qur'aan), and be not divided among yourselves.”
(Aal ‘Imraan 3:103)
If you are had thought over the consequences of this crisis, you would have made
all efforts to douse its fire. Allaah says,
“And whomsoever Allaah wants to put in Al-Fitnah
(error, because of his rejecting of Faith), you can do nothing for him against
Allaah. Those are the ones whose hearts Allaah does not want to purify (from
disbelief and hypocrisy); for them there is a disgrace in this world, and in the
Hereafter a great torment.”
(Al-Maaidah 5:41)
Allaah also says,
“And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial) which
affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict
all the good and the bad people), and know that Allaah is Severe in punishment.”
(Al-Anfaal 8:25)
Brethren in faith! Men of security forces deserve our praise and supplications.
The society should regard those of them who die in the service as martyrs.
Finally, I implore you and myself to abide by the Prophetic injunction that goes
thus: “I command you to fear Allaah and to hear and obey even of a slave is made
the leader over you. For whoever lives long among you shall see much
differences. Hold fast unto my way and the way of the righteous guided
successors after me.”
